SD-WAN adoption is soaring for a number of reasons with the primary being performance, cost and flexibility. The cloud is a force underpinning this growth, as more and more business are migrating to this innovative and integral technology, SD-WAN is a preferred path for optimal networking.

Today, VeloCloud announced enhancements to its cloud-delivered SD-WAN solution to extend to Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) (AWS). Enterprises can enjoy a high performing network solution that enables simplified branch deployment, improved network agility and secure application growth.

“VeloCloud SD-WAN has, from the beginning, been characterized by powerful optimization, performance and security capabilities combined with unmatched flexibility and simplicity for implementation and management of enterprise WAN,” said Steve Woo, VP of Products and Co-Founder of VeloCloud Networks. “The increasing integration of VeloCloud SD-WAN with AWS together with the uniquely flexible deployment options further differentiates our solution in the market.”

VeloCloud also allows for optimized access to enterprise applications and private datacenters, as well as cloud services and datacenters via the VeloCloud Gateway (News - Alert). VeloCloud Edge is SD-WAN offering available on AWS that offers the security, optimized performance and flexibility in a simplified manner.

In deploying VeloCloud, organizations can build out in a number of ways with minimal disruption to existing infrastructure, while still taking advantage of all the cloud can offer; alleviating complexity, and delivering the security and performance expected.

This AWS and VeloCloud collaboration is resulting in a seamless user experience and a smooth transition to the world of software-defined networking.

“AWS has been a key piece of our strategy that has facilitated our consolidation and growth plans globally,” said Lee Wee Han, Group IT Infrastructure Lead for Wilmar International Limited. “Virtual VeloCloud Edge on AWS will allow our users located in geographically distributed locations to easily access cloud workloads in a more cost-effective manner.”

SD-WAN is starring in our software-defined world, and this is only the beginning. The proliferation of partnerships paired with the fever pitch of innovation taking place will open the door to a new day in networking.
