The cloud is a computing force to behold around the globe. This burgeoning technology is touching all points of networking; and coupled with the current phase of digital transformation and the rise in software-defined solutions the iron is hot for SD-WAN. With projections placing expectations of a billion-dollar industry, this is the bottom floor of a high-rise elevator.

The recently concluded SD-WAN Summit 2017, was hosted in Paris and proved quite illuminating – possibly brighter than the “City of Lights.” A notable announcement from the event unveiled a pairing between Cato Networks on InfoVista (News - Alert), which is resulting in the availability of an integrated SD-WAN gateway solution set to deliver an application-aware, secure, global network supported by exceptional SLA and optimized for the cloud.

The solution brings together InfoVista’s Ipanema Application Aware (News - Alert) SD-WAN and the Cato Cloud network service to provide an application-aware SD-WAN, capable of supporting the diverse and growing demands of the modern enterprise network, while providing the peace of mind of a secure network.

The dynamic duo paired the power of Dynamic WAN Selection (DWS) and Application Control Quality of Service from Ipanema (News - Alert) to ensure each application has optimal transport with all Internet-based applications running though the Cato Cloud, sent through a secure gateway via Ipanema, offering complete, cloud-based security. In addition, the Cato Cloud can empower mobile users with the same functionality.

“Combining Ipanema’s unique application performance control capabilities for SD-WAN with Cato’s cloud-based features, allows each enterprise to determine its unique business priorities for applications for each user. This drives transformation to full Internet connectivity with hybrid options to maximize choice,” commented Sylvain Quartier, SVP Product Strategy Enterprises, InfoVista. “It reduces costs, helping more enterprises to leverage the Internet to enhance agility, and offers more robust capabilities for real-time, per session control and cloud access. The solution is now available for leading enterprises globally, through the channel ecosystem.”

It’s not your father’s network anymore. The growing presence of the cloud and software-defined networking solutions are revolutionizing operations with improved performance and flexibility coming at a pocket-friendly price.

What type of WAN are you working with?
