From enterprise to SMB, the cloud era is upon us, enabling the SaaSy times in which we live. With growing network requirements, ensuring performance is mission critical, and in this SaaS-tastic business climate, it seems more than appropriate to add another member to the alphabet soup. Recently, BT (News - Alert) announced the launch of BT Connect Intelligence InfoVista-as-a-Service, which harnesses the power of the cloud to deliver optimization, control and visibility.

Keith Langridge, vice president network services, Global Services, BT, noted, “BT is the first in the industry to launch this innovative variant of the proven InfoVista (News - Alert)-based application performance management technology.  We are providing our customers with even more choice and flexibility as they embark on their digital transformation journeys.”

BT Connect Intelligence InfoVista-as-a-Service provides the InfoVista Ipanema technology leveraging the BT cloud infrastructure, and offers a robust set of tools to ensure exceptional business application performance across the network. The newly announced service can be a key tool in a firm’s digital transformation, as it opens existing network infrastructure to software defined networking and a more dynamic network.

BT provides the service via its cloud infrastructure, which can easily be managed over the Internet. And, because the solution is cloud-based, deployment is a snap. Customers additionally benefit from availability and self-service over any WAN infrastructure. The service is currently available to BT’s existing client base, as well as those leveraging other network providers.

Louise Maitland, vice president, global channel for BT, InfoVista, said, “Enterprises are rapidly adopting hybrid networks to cope with ever increasing bandwidth demands as they transform into digital businesses.  BT’s innovative, user-based pricing allows customers to InfoVista’s Ipanema solution in a true SaaS (News - Alert) subscription model independent of bandwidth, giving enterprises the flexibility they need to launch new applications and services when they need it.”

Business starts with the WAN. No, it’s not the WAN making the sale, resolving a customer issue or strategizing the firm’s next big maneuver. But, the WAN is what enables all of the above to take place. In the growing complexity of our cloud-y existence, it is important to simplify things, and that’s exactly what BT Connect Intelligence InfoVista-as-a-Service does.
