Channel partners play an important role in IT because of the local and industry segment specialization they bring. With the right channel partner, a company can experience exponential growth faster than going at it alone and trying to capture markets one region or industry at a time. For Windstream (News - Alert), provider of advanced network communications and technology, the launch of the new Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution specifically for resellers along with the improvement of the company's wholesale reseller program have been designed to specifically give its channel partners a more competitive edge in the industry.
By creating a SD-WAN solution for resellers and improving the existing Windstream Wholesale’s program, the company is making a concerted effort to give its channel partners a better product and delivery system of the services it provides to differentiate itself in the marketplace.
Windstream offers bundled services, including broadband, security solutions, voice and digital TV as well as advanced network communication, technology, data, cloud solutions, unified communications and managed services to consumers, small businesses, enterprise organizations and carrier partners in the U.S. This also includes SD-WAN and transport solutions on 147,000 miles of local and long-haul fiber-optic network.
The new SD-WAN solution uses this network to deliver a service that gives organizations better performance and operational efficiencies with greater agility and visibility along with more control. These features are available to resellers on a new platform with a comprehensive interface so they can optimize the performance of end-user applications and value-added services.
Using the interface, the Windstream Wholesale’s SD-WAN solution combines end-user locations and services to eliminate manual monitoring so resellers can deliver a fully managed solution to generate new streams of revenue while improving the customer experience.
“This significant addition of SD-WAN to the current available portfolio of Wholesale solutions – including MEF (News - Alert) 2.0 Certified Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and Dedicated Internet Access and more – enables a full-scale, flexible and powerful technology that positions resellers as trusted advisers to their end users,” said Jeff Brown, director of product management and marketing for Windstream’s Wholesale business unit.
The efficiencies and improvements Windstream Wholesale's solutions offer are made possible because of the company's own 147,000-mile fiber-optic long-haul network, which allows the SD-WAN a variety of benefits to reseller partners. According to Windstream, this includes cost-efficient connectivity through augmenting MPLS, network simplicity, application visibility and control, improved performance with Windstream’s Cloud Core Network Architecture, and real-time analytics that provide immediate insights into network and application performance.
